This is the first in a three part series on how to construct a ‘Puzzle Mug’. This type of practical joke was popular in medieval times and is still fun today. The victim was made to drink out of the mug without spilling any of the liquid therein. This was found to be impossible unless the patron was aware of the trick. On a scale of 1-10 in difficulty, I give this one a 10.5, It’s not an easy project.

In this episode Robert show how to throw one of the more difficult types of lids you can throw. Thrown inverted off-the-hump, this lid is an advanced technique for any potter. Forgive the ‘choppy’ video but it comes straight off our live pottery camera. If you have any questions for Robert about this technique – please contact him at www.corvusmoon.com.

Robert shows how to throw and construct a Bonsi pot from start to finish. Throwing the feet and attaching them are also demonstrated. This is a 10min video procedure that is quite large, (over 50megs) so make sure there’s enough room on your portable.
